Johnson sharpens its Quebec strategy

S.C. Johnson and Son, a Brantford, Ontario-based manufacturer of over 400 consumer products, is launching a media campaign that is specifically targeted to consumers in Quebec. The company has been inspired to up its marketing efforts in Quebec due to an increase in sales for its products in the province. S.C. Johnson's campaign in Quebec includes an original French TV advertisement that features comedian Yves Pelleter as spokesperson and ad in the newspapers that features a drawing of the bottle of its products, Fantastik and Windex, driving a convertible. S.C. Johnson also created partnerships with La Presse, a Montreal, Quebec-based newspaper, and French-language CKOI-FM to promote Fantastik and Windex.

Giving VIA its true face value

VIA Rail Canada's "Faces Of" ad campaign is designed to reward and recognize the railroad company's business travellers who comprise a significant percentage of both its VIA 1 and economy class business. The rail company consider business travellers as high-yield producers who are willing to pay more than leisure travellers. To attract business travellers, VIA has offered them conveniences such as meetings table and electrical outlets. It also offers its overnight service as an option to enable travellers to avoid paying for hotels and to arrive in time to attend meetings in Toronto or Montreal.

Quebec liquor stores tout mega-choice

Liquor store chain Societe des alcools du Quebec has launched a $1-million advertising campaign to promote its wide selection of wines and spirits. The advertising campaign was developed by Publicite Martin. It includes outdoor billboards in Montreal and Quebec, Quebec, three French television commercials that will air until Dec 1999 and print advertisements in English.
