Knowing is succeeding
Article Abstract:
Most UK companies are aware of the importance of knowledge to their business, but most knowledge management systems and programmes are not successful, according to research by PriceWaterhouseCoopers. It is clear that employees must have a clear insight into what knowledge management systems and programmes are seeking to achieve, otherwise knowledge disseminated around a company could have only limited relevance. It is very important that companies monitor the way information is distributed, even if they have only a small number of employees. For international firms, interactive media can play a valuable role.

An inside outlook
Article Abstract:
The appointment of non-executive directors within their own companies is seen as way of using experienced and knowledgable senior employees to revitalize company boards. Previously non-executive directors were usually directors of other companies who used their skills on behalf of a second company. Several large organisations who have used their own employees in this role have reported that it meant that the board has a better idea of what is happening throughout their company.
