Kremlin's stability pact
Article Abstract:
Russian President Boris Yeltsin has stated that the country's business leaders have promised to stop undermining the government's privatization plans. First Deputy Prime Ministers Anatoly Chubais and Boris Nemtsov have promised that fair and open auctions of shareholdings in state companies will take place and that the shareholdings will go to the highest bidders. Privatization plans include privatizing state oil concern Rosneft no earlier than the fourth quarter of 1997 and no later than the second quarter of 1998.
