Labatt reassigns Bozell brands

Labatt Breweries has awarded its Carlsberg and Budweiser advertising accounts to Ammirati Puris Lintas and Palmer Jarvis DDB. Bozell Worldwide, which used to handle both accounts was forced to resign when it announced that it was being merged into FCB Canada which has the competing Coors Light account. Labatt vp for marketing David Kincaid said he discussed creative and media planning with both agencies and that the existing positionings for both brands will continue.

E*Trade lists Grey, H&K

Online brokerage firm E*Trade Canada has awarded to Grey Canada and Hill and Knowlton (Canada) Ltd its $8-10 million advertising and public relations account. Grey, which was chosen the lead agency on strategic and market convergence issues, will also administer creative, media buying and online activities. Hill and Knowlton will administer PR operations. E*Trade's account was formerly handled by McManus Elliott Communications Inc.

Bristol-Myers picks Publicis
Article Abstract:
Publicis WellCare has been awarded a contract by St Laurent, Quebec-based Bristol-Myers Squibb Canada to market its hair-removal product, Vaniqa. The health and personal care company has first launched Vaniqa in the US and has decided to bring the product to Canada. Bristo-Myers has required the Montreal, Quebec-based advertising company to create a campaign similar to the campaign made for Vaniqa in the US.
