Landscape authority
Article Abstract:
Alan Tate will finish his term as President of the UK's Landscape Institute (LI) in Jul 1997. He has continued the work of his predecessor in maintaining the LI's strong public profile, and has been keen to maintain links with other organisations, including RIBS, RTPI, and the Institute of Leisure and Amenity Management. Tate moved into landscape architecture from planning in 1974, and eventually launched his own practice with a partner. They merged this partnership with San Francisco-based EDAW in order to provide more opportunities to work on large schemes.
