Le verre reste le mat riau chouchou des Franaises
Article Abstract:
The IPSOS Opinion institute has carried out a survey of 1,036 French women 15 years old and over for Verre Avenir. This survey shows that 75% of those using cosmetics prefer glass for product packaging, and this is true for all ages. Of those surveyed, 81% like glass for its aesthetic appeal, 77% say that it shows the product it contains to its best advantage, 71% like it for its luxury aspect, 63% like it because it keeps the product well, 56% like it for hygiene reasons, and 52% like it because of its practicality. For 61% of those interviewed, the fact that glass is heavier than plastic is not a problem, and 53% think that one is as solid as the other. When price and contents are equal, 75% of the women would buy a product which comes in a glass container rather than another material. Of mail order clients, 79% prefer glass, as do 79% of those who shop in specialised stores, 76% of those who shop in perfume shops and department stores, and 73% of those who shop in supermarkets and hypermarkets. Preference for glass varies according to the products, but it a big favourite for body care products: 66% prefer glass for day creams, night creams and under eye products, 57% prefer glass for moisturising creams and 43% like it for foundation makeup. Despite their preference for glass, however, those surveyed like to have the choice of other materials.
