France's two green parties are trying various political strategies to increase their membership in parliament. Generation Ecologie leader Brice Lalonde has attempted to build coalitions on the right and left to enhance current support for green parties ranging from 15% to 17% of the popular vote.

It appears that either Michel Rocard or Jacques Delors will be the main challenger to Jacques Chirac in the 1995 French presidential election. Delors is the current European Commission president, and Rocard is the new secretary of the French Socialist Party.
