Legal matters: Lessons to be learned from the case of an undervalued house

The case JD Wood & Co. v. Knatchbull is discussed. Michael Knatchbull had accused Wood, an estage agent, of undervaluing his house in Notting Hill. The judge found that although the house was indeed undervalued, he did not find negligence on the part of Wood but nevertheless vendors duties were owed.

Legal matters: Crane collapse case proves that no one is ever in absolute control
Article Abstract:
The case Yarm Road v. Hewden Tower Cranes (2002) is discussed. The case involved the collapse of a WolffWK320BF Luffing Jib Electric Powered Tower Crane that was being utilized for the setting up of a HSBC facility at Canary Wharf. A judge ruled that Hewden is liable for the collapse.

Ceiling collapse tests the limits of insurance policy's liability
Article Abstract:
The limitations of the insurance policy are illustrated. The case of Horbury Building System v. Hampden Insurance illustrates that an insured party can find themselves potentially liable for things not covered by their insurance policy.
