The United Nations is encountering resistance in its attempt to eliminate Iraqi nuclear and chemical weaponry. Saddam Hussein's lack of cooperation with the Security Council's attempt to verify laboratories and installations is angering the council, who say that easing the pressure on Iraq could be disastrous.

Lies, damned lies

Presidents Reagan and Bush and Prime Minister Thatcher all lied about relations with Iran and Iraq. Reagan dealt arms for hostages, and Thatcher and Bush approved military-usable exports to Iraq. The public deserves the truth about foreign relations.
