MORE DCW FACILITIES PUT ON SALE LIST
Article Abstract:
DCW Home Products Ltd (DHPL) is to sell 3 of its production facilities. The units that will be sold are the refined iodised salt production units at Palghar in Maharashtra and in Thiruporur in Tamil Nadu as well as the whole wheat flour production unit at Taloja in Maharashtra. DHPL plans to sell these units only if it gets Rs7 crore for the Palghar unit, Rs10 crore for the Thiruporur unit and Rs7 crore for the Taloja unit. It had earlier sold its Captain Cook salt brand and the production unit at Gandhidam in Gujarat to Corn Products Company (India). (ag)

CPC PUTS CAPTAIN COOK BRAND ON SHOPPING LIST

Corn Products Company (India) Ltd (CPC), a subsidiary of Bestfoods Inc of the US, plans to acquire the Captain Cook salt brand from DCW-Home Products Ltd (DCW). The purchase agreement indicates the sales of Captain Cook brand, which includes sales of both atta and salt. CPC at present has evinced interest in acquiring only the salt manufacturing units at Gandhidham. CPC's brands include Knorr soups, Rex jelly and Brown & Polson custard powder. (gs)

CORN PRODUCTS TO PAY Rs80 CR FOR NEW BUYS

Corn Products Co (India) (CPC), a part of Bestfoods Inc of the US, plans to buy Captain Cook brand salt business from DCW Home Products Ltd (DCW) along with the trade mark for Rs80 crore to Rs90 crore. DCW's Captain Cook salt plant is located at Gandhidham in Gujarat. CPC is also planning to buy the instant food mixes business of Tarla Dalal Foods Ltd for Rs5 crore.
