Making sense of space
Article Abstract:
Architectural firm Stanton Williams places strong emphasis on the understanding and management of space. Indeed, founders Paul Williams and Alan Stanton regard this process as vital to the art of architecture. The firm makes considerable efforts to establish a collaborative dialogue with its clients, as reflected in its work with the Peter Moores Foundation at Compton Verney in Warwickshire, England, which is now entering a second phase. The firm's architects believe that composition arises from and reflects the handling of space.

Three celebrate a fourth
Article Abstract:
Anglo-Polish architectural practice Studio E, created in 1994, seeks to act as a true partnership. Each of the four partners pursues his own interests, but all contribute to a common store of knowledge and experience. The practice has seen rapid growth, and its turnover in 1997 reached almost 500,000 pounds sterling. However, it remains firmly committed to a clear and consistent vision of architecture and design. The partners are now keen to take on larger commissions.
