Managing for growth
Article Abstract:
Many Internet companies are growing rapidly and this can bring problems both within this sector and elsehwere. Companies have sought to cut costs in other sectors, but there are limits to this course of action, and growth may become a more popular goal. Stock prices can be affected if companies do not grow. Corporate strategy may lead to lack of growth, rather than external pressures. A number of large firms such as Microsoft are seeking to manage growth in ways more commonly seen among smaller firms.
