Merchant adventure
Article Abstract:
CZWG Architects were careful not to design a building out of character from the rest of the area when they were commissioned to design a large seven storey building on Cochrane Street in the Merchants City, Glasgow, Scotland. The office building will eventually also house restaurants and retail outlets on its ground floor. Architect Piers Gough used some innovative ideas but was careful his designs met the requirements of a modern office. The building incorporates many aspects of design used on other buildings in Glasgow, such as a classical style of building built in stone.
