Monsoon PLC saw its share value fall by 16% following the company's announcement that it posted a decline in sales and profits for the first-quarter of 1999. The 16% fall is a continuation of a decline in Monsoon's share value. The company's sales and profits fell because of an unattractive range of products and deteriorating consumer confidence. Monsoon posted a pretax profit loss to 11.82 million pound sterling for the six-month period ending in November 1998. During the same period in 1997, the company posted 14.97 million in profits.
