Mouth-to-ear resuscitation: new poetry from America
Article Abstract:
The Oct 1996 Poetry International festival in London, England, featured three outstanding US poets: Rita Dove, Mark Doty and Geoffrey Hill. All three have new books out. Dove's book is 'Mother Love.' Doty's book is 'Atlantis' and Hill's book is 'Canaan.' Excerpts are presented.

Liquor is quicker: pub poetry
Article Abstract:
Throughout history great poetry has been linked with alcohol. The Little Pub Co established an annual prize for Britain's best pub poet, to recognize this important association. Connections between poetry and intoxication are discussed.
