Multi-plant production planning and capacitated self-configuring two-stage serial systems

Article Abstract:

A study has been conducted to investigate a capacitated master production planning and capacity allocation problem for a multi-plant manufacturing system with two serial stages in each plant. A discrete time production planning problem has been considered for the study. Findings have indicated that when the two-stage serial system operated without a buffer, it exhibited the capability of dynamically self-configuring itself. A mixed linear programming problem proposing two iterative heuristic procedures has been formulated as a solution.

Analysing production and environmental risks in arable farming systems: a mathematical approach

Article Abstract:

A study has been conducted to develop a model that can be used to estimate risks of specific current or new farming systems, omitting innovations in the sector, using all possible natural conditions as model input and to objectively compare farming systems under similar farm and management situations. Findings have revealed that the developed methods are very useful and flexible in linking agro-ecological knowledge with farm management models.
