Multicriteria decision aid in financial management

Article Abstract:

A study has been conducted to examine the contribution of the multicriteria analysis in studying and solving financial decision problems. The framework used is multicriteria decision aid (MCDA) approach. This approach is a set of methods which allow the aggregation of several evaluation criteria in order to choose or describe a set of alternatives, such as financial assets or investment projects. The use of MCDA forces the financial managers to seek for a careful structuring of the examined financial problem, before proceeding to the solution.

Interval estimation of priorities in the AHP

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to extend the Analytic Hierarchy Process and Synthetic Hierarchy Method of priority estimation to support random data in pairwise comparison matrices. A Cauchy distribution was utilized to characterize the pairwise comparison of alternatives in Saaty matrices. Results indicated that the methods of priority estimation with random data generate ranges of priority weights equivalent to the confidence intervals in nonlinear regression frameworks.
