NELITO, ELCOT TO MARKET CASH-HANDLING PRODUCTS IN TN

Nelito Systems Ltd - the Rs22 crore joint venture between the Tatas and Itochu of Japan - has tied up with Elcot Electromech Devices Ltd (EEDL) to market cash-handling products in Tamil Nadu. Nelito provides software solutions for bank branch automation. It also has a tie-up with the $1 billion De La Rue of UK to sell cash handling products. Nelito has appointed EEDL - a joint venture with the public sector Elcot - as sole distributor for Tamil Nadu. The bank note and coin processing software and hardware will be supplied by De La Rue. The company expects a turnover of 3 million pound sterling in India's 95 percent cash oriented market. (nr)

BPL REFRIGERATION HALVES LOSS AT RS5.17-CRORE

BPL Refrigeration Ltd has reduced its loss to Rs5.17 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 1998 (compared to Rs10.65 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 1997).
