Understanding the different characteristics of an advertising network is essential to building more effective strategies in offline and online marketing. Standard networks, for example are better for marketers concentrating on reach and internet traffic while a website that provides access to site information and impressions are ideal for building the company's brand. The issue of transparency in online advertising networks is discussed.
