New baggage handling in Toronto

Jervis B Webb Company of Canada has won a multi-million dollar contract for the design, manufacture and installation of a sophisticated baggage handling system for the New Terminal at Lester B Pearson International Airport in Toronto, Ontario. The baggage handling system will comprise three outbound sortation systems aimed at handling domestic, international and transborder passenger baggage, and one inbound system, which will deliver baggage to 13 sloped plate claim devices.

Smart lighting project

ABB Building Technologies carried out a 2.3 million pounds sterling electrical services program as part of the extension of the runway at East Midlands Airport. ABB's Airports Business installed aviation ground lighting, navigational aids, interim taxiway control system and directional adn mandatory signs for the 20 million pounds sterling runway extension project. The company also provided temporary aviation works to maintain lighting operation throughout the work period.
