Okanagan reinforces its craft brew roots

Okanagan Springs of Vancouver recently launched an advertising campaign aimed to reinforce its craft beer history. The firm's "We're Serious About Beer" summer campaign is the first phase to build brand awareness, with a second phase set for early 1999. The campaign also marks the first for the brewery since it awarded Grey Advertising of vancouver the account in December 1997. Okanagan Springs brand, with just under $1 million in 1998 ad budget, covers about $43 share of the craft beer segment in British Columbia.

Okanagan Springs gets new look

Okanagan Spring Brewery has unveiled new packaging for its six beer brands that will reinforce Okanagan Spring as a premium beer brand. The new packaging will feature a stylish background illustration of British Columbia's Okanagan Valley. The packaging would be used on Okanagan's Pale Ale, Premium Lager, Traditional Pilsner, Classic Nut Brown Ale, Honey Blonde Ale and Old English Porter beer brands. Advertising agency Grey Northwest will also conduct a radio, print and outdoor campaign for Okanagan.

BC Gas aims for resourceful image

BC Gas of Burnaby, British Columbia, has launched a television and print campaign to try build its brand before deregulation sets in in the natural gas industry. Bob Thomson, senior marketing manager at the company, said the campaign will build awareness and customer loyalty that is practically non-existent at the moment. The campaign was created by Bryant Fulton & Shee of Vancouver, British Columbia.
