Older job hunters prefer networking to headhunters

Older executives in Asia depend more on networking to find employment, while job searchers under 40 prefer to use headhunters, advertisements, and the Internet, according to a Drake Beam Morin survey. Networking resulted in new jobs for 43% of the 1,140 executives surveyed, and about 21% used a headhunter.

More out-of-work Asian executives find a new job by networking than by using a headhunter or recruiting service, according to a survey by Drake Beam Morin. About half of the 3,956 executives polled in seven Asian countries found employment through their professional or social contacts.
