Opportunities knock - for some
Article Abstract:
The economic climate created by the Asian financial crisis will provide opportunities for some Australian companies. New investors can take advantage of a wider opening of the Asian market to foreigners at a time when assets are at a low price. Investors should be sure asset prices have bottomed out and export markets remain intact. Current joint ventures can also be restructured.

Are Asia's tigers on the prowl again?
Article Abstract:
Asia's tigers may be coming back after a drop in confidence. Asset prices adjusted but now have regained as much as 50%. Experienced investment managers are still cautious of a wave of bankruptcies, but confidence is coming back slowly. Asset prices are a function of interest rates. Upside potential should be balanced against risks.
