Paved with good intentions
Article Abstract:
The World Conference on Science has been organized in Budapest, Hungary, by the International Council for Science and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. The conference has failed to address the future, and little attention has been devoted to information technology, biotechnology, and the contribution of the private sector. The private sector funds an increasing proportion of scientific research so this is a serious omission.
