Pearson to pay $477 million for education site eCollege

U.K.-based publisher Pearson PLC will buy American online educational services firm ECollege for $477 mil, after having already bought two Harcourt division units from Reed Elsevier PLC in a deal totaling $950 mil 10 days before. Shares for Pearson and ECollege went up 2% and 4.4% respectively.
