Planned issue by Timah offers rare play on tin
Article Abstract:
Investment analysts predict Tambang Timah Persero P.T.'s initial stock offering to raise about $200 million. The Indonesian tin mining firm will sell 25% of its shares on the London Stock Exchange and 10% on the Jakarta Stock Exchange to attract foreign investors. Although the offering will not stir the same enthusiasm as that generated by the offering of the country's state-owned telecommunications firm, Indonesian Satellite, analysts are confident that it will attract many investors because of the huge potential of Indonesia's rich tin resources.

Chinese rocket program encounters more trouble
Article Abstract:
China's Long March rocket program has suffered more setbacks as both Intelsat and Asia Satellite Telecommunications Co. chose to abandon their planned launches on the rocket. The two consortiums may have believed that the program was not stable enough. Furthermore, Israeli television was able to cover the latest attempted launching, which was a failure. The footage would scare off plans by other groups to hitch onto the Chinese program.
