Premium packaged spirits
Article Abstract:
Sales of premium packaged spirits in the UK rose 900% from 10 million pounds sterling in 1994 to 90 million pounds sterling in 1997. Premium packaged spirits sales made up 0.3% of the UK alcoholic drinks sector in 1997. Market leader is Smirnoff Mule with a 33% market share, although Bacardi-Martini has three drinks that jointly account for 42% of market share. The total market value is predicted to reach 150 million pounds sterling by the year 2001. The high number of different drinks in the market have led to retail outlets choosing to stock only certain drinks due to lack of space.
