INDIAN COS SET EYES ON MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION
Article Abstract:
The Indian computer software outsourcing segment is finding the medical transcription business very lucrative. In India there are about 25 companies involved in medical transcription business and the number is growing at a rate of 100 percent every six months. Medical transcription is expected to earn $2 billion forex for India by 2008 AD. Indian software companies have two advantages. One is the cheap labour and the other quicker turnaround time since there is no time loss due to difference in time zone. The large English knowing computer literate populace has also made India more competitive. (um)(psr)

LG Soft India Pvt Ltd (LGSI) has launched a new hand-held PC (HPC) in India. Two models - Phenom II and Express are being launched initially. The PCs are manufactured in Korea and provide access to the Internet, fax, e-mail and voice recording. The section of the market targeted includes the mobile users.
