Article Abstract:
Novell has undergone a recovery since Eric Schmidt took over as head of the company. He has reduced costs and launched a new NetWare version, and the company has reported its sixth consecutive profitable quarter. Schmidt has also turned Novell Directory Services (NDS) into a product that has become a mrket leader, unbundling it and making it possible to use NDS with other operating systems, as well as reducing the price. NDS could face competition from a Windows product, but NDS is likely to be more powerful.
