Toronto Life creates new CityGuides

Toronto Life is launching its 12 pullout resource guides as CityGuides, which is a series of advertiser backed digest-size handbooks. CityGuides will be bundled with subscriber and newsstand copies of Toronto Life starting with the January 1999 issue. Aside from exclusive or joint sponsorships, Toronto Life publisher Bill Duron said CityGuides will also feature a mix of local and display advertising.

Cosmo a kiss away from Canada
Article Abstract:
The Hearst Corp plans to launch a Canadian edition of its women's magazine, Cosmopolitan. George Green, president of Hearst Magazines International, said the company prefers to form a 50-50 joint venture with a local publisher to publish a stand-alone edition of Cosmo. Green estimates the Canadian edition to be launched within four to six months.
