Moseley-Braun relaxes into job; early gaffes burdened new senator
Article Abstract:
US Sen Carol Moseley-Braun has started to recover from the early gaffes she burdened herself with during the first few months of her ground-breaking Senate career. Her post-election visit to Africa with her controversial campaign manager-turned-boyfriend, her temporary residence at a Chicago high-rise and her slow staff hiring have made her a target for media criticism. However, she now seems focused on her job as Illinois senator and hopes to live up to expectations of being a powerful symbol for both women and blacks.
