Rock and rap music is beginning to influence the 1992 presidential campaign. MTV Networks Inc is promoting 'Rock the Vote, an effort by rock and popular musicians to get young people to vote. Lyrics in a song by rap singer Sister Souljah were criticized by Bill Clinton, who was in turn criticized by Jesse Jackson.

Presidential candidate Bill Clinton, now the putative nominee of the Democratic party, has been making frequent use of the US broadcast media in an attempt to improve his image with the voters. Most notable was an appearance on 'The Arsenio Hall Show' in which he performed on the saxophone.
