The budget crisis in New York, NY is partially due to government over-staffing and high wages. Strong labor unions for city employees have drained the budget with their labor demands. Mayor David Dinkins need to cut the payroll to get the city back on its feet.

Prime minister Constantine Mitsotakis is bravely trying to reduce the budget deficit by cutting back on pensions for government employees. Pension payments make up 38% of the current budget. Strikes by disgruntled public employees have caused chaos.
