Russia puts Motorola on hold

Motorola Inc. of the United States brought a shipment of mobile phones into Russia and the consignment was impounded and 50,000 cell phones classified harmful and destroyed. The incident highlights the risks of Western companies doing business in Russia. The cell phone market in Russia is the largest in Europe with over 33 million handsets sold last year.

India-tariff probe suspended: EU halts WTO panel after easing of duties on wines, spirits
Article Abstract:
India's reduction of tariffs on wine and spirits has caused the European Union to suspend a World Trade Organization panel that had been created to investigate the tariffs, which in some areas raised the import tax to six times the value of the product. EU exports of wine to India totaled $12.8 mil in 2006.
