SATYAM Q2 NET RISES 113%

Satyam Computer Services Ltd (SCS) posted a 113 percent higher net profit at Rs18.42 crore in the second quarter ended September 1998 (Rs8.63 crore in the corresponding period of 1997). Its total income increased by 142 percent to Rs91.89 crore. Its exports of software products increased by 142 percent to Rs91.80 crore (Rs37.83 crore). Its expenditure was Rs56.07 crore (Rs24.03 crore). Its gross profit increased by 156 percent to Rs35.82 crore. Its depreciation was Rs9.22 crore (Rs2.37 crore). Its financial expenses were Rs7.08 crore. Its tax was Rs1.10 crore. It has declared its maiden interim dividend of 12 percent for 1998-99. (rk)
