SBL TO RIDE ON TVS BRAND IN US MARKET

Sundaram Brake Linings Ltd (SBLL) proposes to re-enter into the US market during January 1999. It proposes to sell auto components under the TVS brand. Earlier, it exported its products to the US through Abex Corporation. SBLL has invested Rs40 lakh for conducting a detailed survey of the $200 million brake linings market in the US. It has targeted 10 percent share of the US market in five years. It also plans to foray into the original equipment manufacturers' market after establishing itself. (ag)

SRI ADHIKARI BROTHERS FIRMS UP SOFTWARE EXPORT DEALS

Sri Adhikari Brothers has started exporting television entertainment software to TV Asia, a US channel which caters to the Asian community in North America, and to MA TV, which caters to ethnic Asians in the UK. It has also tied-up deals with three other regional UK networks for Hindi entertainment programming. The company claims that supply to the US market has already brought in about Rs1 crore in the recent past. (khr)
