SHRI SHAKTI, ARAI DEVELOP 2 CONVERSION KITS
Article Abstract:
Shri Shakti LPG, in association with the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), has developed 2 conversion kits. The first - the Shakti Gas Autokit - enables 3-wheeler autorickshaws to run on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). It gives a mileage of 49-51 km per kg of LPG as against 26.3 km per litre of petrol. Fuel is saved by more than half and carbon monoxide emission is reduced by 81 percent. The second product - the Shakti Gas Genkit - enables portable gensets to use LPG as fuel. Its operating cost is Rs6.50 per hour and the carbon dioxide emission is reduced by 90 percent. Both the kits have inbuilt safety features. (uh) (kvr)
