Sam Seng embodies tradition in world of mass producers

Sam Seng Wine Co, the biggest manufacturer of traditional Chinese medicine wines, will have Thomas Li, the youngest son of owner Li Hee, as heir apparent. The son, a University of Wisconsin graduate in economic studies, immediately agreed to become the heir after Li Hee asked him to. Hong Kong manufacturers of traditional Chinese wines are down to a minimum from a maximum of approximately 40 some 10 years ago.

Japan's apathetic employees
Article Abstract:
Japan's workforce costs the national economy as much as 21.4 trillion yen ($180.03 billion) a year. Almost 20% of workers are disillusioned with their jobs, according to a Gallup Organization study. Also, 79% are apathetic about their jobs. Of the number of disillusioned employees, 21% plan to stay at their companies for life.
