Dutch ponder JSF commitment as international F-16 MLU goes operational
Article Abstract:
Jan Gmelich Meijling, the outgoing Defense Secretary of the Netherlands, called on the Netherlands to make a commitment to joining the Joint Strike Fighter, or JSF, program of the US. Meijling asserted that committing to the US JSF program will provide the Netherlands with the best opportunity to secure a substitute for its in-service fleet of F-16A/B Mid Life Update fighter aircraft. Meijling endorsed the Joint Strike Fighter as the best alternative for the Netherlands' fleet of F-16 Mid Life Update fighter aircraft.
