Siemens Automobilova Technika: New investment
Article Abstract:
Siemens Automobilova technika (SAT) (Czech Republic), car component producer, will start the construction of a distribution hall in Stribro, the Czech Republic, in February 1999. The investment cost on the project should be about 37 mil Kc. SAT commissioned a material storage hall with an area of 2,300 sq mt in Stribro at the end of July 1998. The hall was built at a cost of 37 mil Kc. More than 30 mil Kc of the sum was represented by construction cost and nearly 7 mil Kc by technological investment. SAT manufactures car bunched cables at its plants in Stribro and Plzen, the Czech Republic. SAT expects its plants in Stribro and Plzen to see a turnover of 2.2 bil Kc in the year 1997/98 compared to about 1.4 bil Kc in 1996/97. The plants in Stribro and Plzen had 2,580 employees in the middle of 1998 compared to 1,713 employees in September 1997. Besides, SAT has a plant in Frenstat-pod-Radhostem, the Czech Republic. The plant with a production area of 4,000 sq mt produces electronic equipment for cars and household appliances. The plant should build a new hall at a cost of 270 mil Kc. The hall should be commissioned in September 1999.

A new plant of Witte Nejdek

Witte (Nejdek, Czech Republic), lock manufacturer, will commission a new plant in February 2000. The investment costs on the construction of the plant were 175 mil Kc. The plant will have 300 employees. The firm has ensured contracts for the newly built premises. Currently, the company supplies the car companies VW, Skoda, Seat, Volvo, Ford, BMW, Audi and Mercedes. Besides, it will supply Saab, Jaguar and Porsche from 2000. The firm is a subsidiary of the concern Witte Verlbert (Germany).
