Siemens plans acquisition to boost internet strategy

German electronics manufacturer Siemens AG has announced plans to increase its presence in the data communications equipment industry. The formation of a new company in the United States will be precluded by the release of new handheld data device priced below 3Com's Palm Pilot product.Siemens plans on forming partnerships with several data-networking companies.
