Small U.K. firms look to China

Greg Humphrey, Elsa Waste Paper of the United Kingdom has seen profit and revenue from the recycling business increase by 15 percent with sales to China approximately 80 percent creating annual revenue of 3.8 million Pounds ($6.7 million). 1,000 tons of waste paper is exported to Chinese recycling mills every week from Elsa Waste Paper. Mr. Humphrey says "The opening up of China has transformed our business."

U.K.'s Prudential posts sales gain
Article Abstract:
Annual 2007 sales for UK insurance firm Prudential PLC rose 16% to reach 2.87 bil pounds sterling, due in part to growth in its Asia markets that counterbalanced lower sales in Britain. Business in Asia increased 37% to reach 1.31 bil pounds sterling, while business in the UK was down slightly at 897 mil pounds sterling.

British insurer posts 10% decline in sales for period
