A powerful force for good
Article Abstract:
It is becoming increasingly common in the UK for top executives to seek the advice of professional mentors on both personal and business issues. Some newly-appointed chief executives may have high levels of technical and business ability, but seek the assistance of a mentor to improve their people management skills. In other cases, a mentor may be used to clarify personal values and strategic goals. The relationship with the mentor is based on mutual trust and respect.

Willing and able: Despite a supposed skills shortage in the UK, many employers persist in overlooking the pool of talent on their own doorsteps - among disabled people
Article Abstract:
The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) of 1995 requires all employers to give disabled people the same employment opportunities as the able-bodied. Improvements in job prospects for the disabled should come from the New Deal for Disabled People and the Disability Task Force.
