Labour Party leader Tony Blair could factionalize the Tory Party, if he decides to back proposed reforms to the UK electoral system. Changing the UK to a proportional representation (PR) or alternative vote (AV) system could marginalize the Tories into two powerless halves: pro- and anti-Europe.

The real danger of new Labour
Article Abstract:
Blair issued a position paper on Jul 4, 1996, that spells out his opinions on various issues and how the Labour Party will be reformed to be more centrist. Labour's stand on free trade and monetary issues are beginning to resemble the Tories. Blair needs to articulate how he differs.
