Street life
Article Abstract:
Creative use of red brickwork has helped produce a colourful traffic free zone in the town centre of Stafford, UK. The town centre was pedestrianised in 1992, with 2 million pounds sterling being spent on redesigning and landscaping to produce an integrated pedestrian area. Stafford Borough Council designers produced the finished result of walkways, seating areas and piazza zones which have helped the area develop as a traffic free shopping centre. Various bricks and patterns were used in the design of the paved areas.
