Sudden bloom of shares in Shisheido may be just skin-deep
Article Abstract:
The rise in the prices of Japanese cosmetic firm Shisheido's shares has been brought about by talks of acquisitions but analysts are wary of recommending the firm's shares. The reluctance on the part of analysts springs from whether Shisheido's acquisition will add value to shareholders or not. In addition, other factors that analysts consider are the price the firm will pay and the return on investment. In early Sept 1999, talk centered on Shisheido acquiring LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton but the firm dispelled reports saying it was engaged in discussions with the luxury goods giant.
