TVS SUZUKI PLANS TO RIDE ON INTERNATIONAL TURF
Article Abstract:
TVS Suzuki (TS) proposes to use the worldwide network of Suzuki to establish its global presence and increase its exports. It plans to export 10 percent of its total production. TS also proposes to restructure its product strategy. It also plans to have only 4-stroke products in all its categories - mopeds, scooters and motorcycles - by the year 2004. The prototypes of the 4-stroke motorcycles licensed by Suzuki have been developed by TS. These motorcycles will be introduced by August 1999. (ag)

Article Abstract:
TVS Suzuki Ltd plans to capture a 25 percent share of the two- wheeler market in the next three years. The company, which will launch its first four-stroke scooter called TVS Spectra on October 1, 1998, plans to capture a 12 percent share of the scooter market in the next three years by selling 1.5 lakh scooters. The company plans to increase its turnover from Rs1000 crore in 1997-98 to Rs1300 crore in 1998-99 and to Rs2100 crore by 2000-01. (khr)
