China reveals export frigate
Article Abstract:
China Shipbuilding Trading Co has presented a design for a 1,600 ton guided-missile frigate intended for export. The frigate, named the F16U, was exhibited as a model at the IDEX exhibition in Abu Dhabi. The frigate's model revealed that it contained mostly contained Western weapons and sensor systems. It weapons included a 32-cell vertical- launching system and eight surface-to-surface missile launchers while some of its sensor are presented as a Thomson-CSF suite and a circular radome.

French satellite system offers independent IMINT
Article Abstract:
Alcatel Space has introduced its space-based image intelligence (IMINT) system ISYS. A stand-alone system would consist of one observation satellite with a resolution of 1 meter, the associated ground control segment, and a complete mission and exploitation segment. Alcatel is offering turnkey optical and radar configurations of the ISYS without French government shutter-control restrictions.
