Archaeologist Kenneth Karsmizki and a group of students are in the process of investigating a site near Great Falls, MT, in an area that they believe served as a 12-day camp for the explorers Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. The Lewis and Clark expedition took place from May 1804-Sep 1806.

Western allies are fighting Iraq again, and there may be an effort to intervene in the Balkans. This would severely test the capacity of the post-Cold War military, which has been significantly depleted by troop cuts. The needed deployment may not be possible.
