The bewildering options facing the business flier
Article Abstract:
Complaints from business-class travelers in Europe were heard at a July 1984 meeting of the International Air Transport Association in Geneva, with the International Chamber of Commerce asking that the business-travel market be placed in better order. Setting standards for business-class travel in Europe can be separated into services offered on long-haul intercontinental routes and services on short-hop flights, such as those most common in Europe. While each category has different needs in certain areas, both require quiet cabins and sufficient room to work. Steps airlines are taking to improve the environment on board their planes for business travelers are described.

Facing up to the future
Article Abstract:
Kuwait has rebounded since being liberated from Iraq by coalition forces and is planning its return to healthy and sustainable growth. Its oil production is back to pre-invasion levels of 2.5 million barrels a day, and the govt deficit is shrinking to $3.34 billion in 1995-96 from half again as much in 1994-95. It may lower or eliminate its still-generous subsidies of various goods and services, and could impose income taxes soon. That might help encourage the recruitment of Kuwaiti nationals by private industry.
